Default Game that you recommend...

i dont see any thread like this... so why not make this thread sticky so we can look up at next game...

you also can add your "goty" game if you wish... even old game...

my top recommend;

fallout 1, 2, and 3

fallout 1 and 2 are very old game and strange to play but the plot and make a decision are very impressive to play...

fallout 3 based on oblivion but its more fun to play and the better plot... perks is the reason why its so fun... oblivion is very wide to travel... fallout 3 is not... because you have to travel throught the dangerous zone...

doom 1, 2, 3 and 3 RE

doom 1/2 is pretty similar but its still enjoy to play... even you still want to re-play...

plot of doom 3 is okay but the enemy is tough to battle with... unfortunately you have to install flashlight on the weapon mod because it really sucks to use flashlight sperately...

starcraft
best RTS game ever... simple gather resource and built your army to kill your enemy (or enemies)... i am still waiting for starcraft 2.... :\

mass effect 1, 2

the plot is good but the real fun is you can decision and it will impact your plot line... ME2 changed the equipment and skill tree system anyhow the gameplay is still very fun to play... so i hope me3 improve greatly and better than me1/2...

halo1 CE
the plot is okay and simple but the walkthrough is very clever to play... but its still fun to play... best part is "very balance" multiplayer because you have to play best than another... unlike bored ut3...

btw never try halo 2 yet because i am afraid to be heavily addicted to it... like halo 1 ce multiplayers

deep space
very similar to doom 3 but its impresive to play but the plot is not that great... just more challenge because you cant kill enemy that so easily like doom 3...

goty ( game of this year);
2010 - mass effect 2...
2009 - not make a decision yet... maybe fuel... if not then dragon age: origin/ the awakening...
2008 - fallout 3
2007 - none... maybe halo 2 or gear of war
2006 - none... maybe half life 2
2005 - none... maybe fable: The lost chapters, or civilization vi...?
2004 - doom 3
2003 - halo 1 CE

rules:
1. please do not suggest the "decent recommend"... i mean you highly recommend... because there is many decent games that you can play...
2. add the description why you highly recommend...
3. you may add goty list if you prefer...

Well the game that got me into PC gaming way back when was C&C95. I was twelve and I thought that the live action cutscenes were the coolest thing ever. It also made me love RTS in general.

My other favorite game of all time is a little known game called Destruction Derby RAW for the PSone. This game was the perfect combination of racing and destruction. You got points for your racing position as well as how many crashes you get into. The physics were amazing for way back then, and totally reproduceable. You can hit a car in a certain place and with a certain speed and get it to do flips and spins way up in the air. It also had really good multiplayer modes like skyscraper battle and pass the bomb, which is like hot potato except with cars.

I swear if they re-released that game with updated graphics but kept everything else identical I would buy it without a second thought.

Bootlegguy:
Destruction Derby 64 was really awesome too! Been years and can not get the music out of my head.(not that it is a bad thing)
Gotta say that I liked the DD 64 tracks more than the DD RAW ones. ;)
Same goes for the multiplayer modes.

Though, as great as bringing up the Destruction Derby series is, I think this is supposed to be for PC games. :P

Sacrifice

Ground Control

Starlancer

Freespace 2

Homeworld (1&2)

Company of Heroes

Just Cause 2 (seriously addicted to this game)

Batman: AA

GOTY this year? I'll have to pick either Just Cause 2 or Napoleon: Total War

Kinda surprised no one mentioned System Shock & System Shock 2. These two games really IMHO defined a genre. Not created the genre but really defined it such that later games such as Deus Ex & Bioshock were influenced by it.

For me the original Wolfenstein & Doom series really got me hooked on PC gaming pushing me to spend my hard earned $$$ on the latest & greatest graphic cards of that time (ATI Mach32 & Mach 64 lol). The iD software & the DOOM series also brought online play to a new level.

Games I will remember.

System Shock 1&2
Deus Ex
Doom Series
F.E.A.R. sreies
COD4
Dead Space
COD MW2
Bioshock Series
Fallout 3
Condemned Criminal Origins
Half Life Series
Ect, Ect......

My favourite PC games:

Far Cry
HL Series
FEAR
Bioshock
Batman: AA
Dead Space
Borderlands
Dawn of War 1
Homeworld

GOTY 2010 - WAAAY too early to tell imo. ME2 certainly has the chops but there's more to come yet!

goty for 2010.. that, i can't decide on yet.

it certainly isn't bfbc2, good game, but definitely not goty material.

Im hoping for a red dead redemption port to pc, if it's as good as the console version, then that could be it.

Im also going to hold out for fallout new vegas to make a decision.

other than that, maybe mass effect 2.

lots of good games this year, but none of them so far, on the pc at least, are at a level above all the others to be called goty.

yeah too early but for now... me2 is definitely goty... (well 6 months is passed)

anyway...

i look up at system shock... its pretty old... and dos!

YouTube - System Shock Gameplay

it looks really werid to play... so it has a little window to view and play... >_>; but i consider to try SS2 because it looks so different and decent to play...

btw new wolfenstein is really disappointment...

ps. please do explain why next time... unless other already explains...
