Default assassin creed 2

its really suck... do you disagree?

i mean it got crap logically plot, crap control, crap camera... especially repeatable bored mission and stupid AI... sometime its pretty frustrated to play...

i wasted my about 40 hours of my life to collect all equipment, feathers, paints, weapons, armors, etc except treasure chests... i will not play AC3 tho... well i never tried AC1 because it was very buggy game and no subtitle...

btw try to fall off from highest building and you will not dead... medicine is useless... i mean i never use it...

I agree. I only got through about 5 hours (if that) before realizing how boring, repetitive, and simple this game was. although I must admit the graphics, environment and animations are impressive.

I agree that it shouldn't win game of the year, but it wasn't that bad. I definitely think the first one was better and that the sequel was pretty much the same gameplay as the first. From what I remember, there were subtitles for AC1, but that was a long time ago.

Plot wise, i wasn't that bad. It really carries on from the first one (sci-fi 'present day' stuff), but the inside the animus plot wasn't that great. That said, I thought it was fun interacting with Leonardo, going through all the tombs, and using the flying machine. They put a lot of effort into trying to bring historical figures and buildings to life and, if nothing else, it was fun just roaming around ancient italian cities.

It seems like ubisoft is getting kind of lazy though as there isn't that much of a difference between the AC games and the PoP games. The AC games have a greater focus on stealth and the PoP games more on combat/acrobatics, but to me they play almost the same way.

I actually really enjoyed AC2. Is it repetitive? Sure. No where near as repetitive as the first one, though. I thought the plot was actually fairly detailed, and the characters reasonably well developed as well, which was something I also found quite lacking in the first. Now, would I ever spend the time to find every feather in the game, etc? Absolutely not; that would drive me nuts. However, it was very much worthwhile playing through the story, IMO.

yes, i agreed graphic and building are pertty good... but i prefer fun factor... as you said...

goty? no i dont think its... yes but i think they tried to make assassin to be world savior.... i mean 2012 aka doomday... its really corny idea... how possible climber/killer save the world?

yes opinion from everyone is different... if you explore feather and you will be bored for sure... but explore the chest is pain in the ass... i gave up when i complete first city... i mean i can make money very easy via renovation my villa and pick/buy value stuff...

i also talk to my younger brother's friend about it... he really likes it... maybe play on the console is different compare to pc...

ps i forget to add... its really ridicule to beat the boss THRICE... why not kill him in the first place... just ignore stupid wise advices from immortal adults... i want to see real boss that can climb, jump and stuff...

To be fair, I can't comment on the PC version; I bought it for PS3, as I was already familiar with the controls from the first game, and didn't want to wait for a possibly buggy PC port.

Don't want to act like a jerk CTA... but if you've played a game for about 40 hours, isn't it because you liked it at least a little?. I'd never be able to play that long at a game i find unpleasant.

And not everything sucks (i haven't playec ac2 yet...) but for sure, they've put lots of work and creativity to recreate Italy at Renaissance.

I just finished it on PS3 this weekend. I actually quite liked this game. I got all of The Truth, all weapons/paintings/armor (not including the Auditore Cape), all statues, upgraded all buildings and collected like 54 feathers. I didn't do all the side missions but did do some here and there. The game is huge and the environments are frickin amazing. I was watching a show that had some scenes in Venice and I was like holy crap... it's EXACTLY like AC2 shows you. My jaw dropped.

I love the blend of sci-fi, theology and history that the story weaves. Absolutely fantastic material in that respect. The soundtrack is probably one of the best to come from a video game in a looong time. It's frickin excellent.

I did find the controls a bit spongy sometimes. Like I am on this great free run streak and all of a sudden Ezio takes a flying leap to one side and misses the next landing, instead falling down 4-5 stories into a crowd of people and leaving me all pissed off, lol. I had some other gripes along the way too but nothing at this point that stands out in my mind that would make me warn others away from this game.

I couldn't make it past 4 hours of AC1 but this game kept me interested and wanting to progress the whole time. They did an excellent job of that. I am actually not usually interested in sandbox games so the fact that I really enjoyed and finished AC2 says a lot imo. It's too bad about the DRM on PC.

I am looking forward to Brotherhood this fall and AC3 when it arrives. I hope the MP is good!

I personally think the game deserved a GOTY nod. Not sure it deserved to win (I don't think it did) but a nod definitely. There is so much detail that went into it I get really mad to think about how Ubi has spoiled such a great game for PC only gamers.

Yes I guess it can get a bit repetitive, but not in the sense of the first game. I found it had a surprising amount of variety actually. Between the storyline missions, The Truth, the carriage mission, the flying machine, escorts, timed assassinations, stealth assassinations, timed stealth assassinations lol) I never really felt like it was a grind. And the story was always there and always progressing. Not like the 1st game where it was grind grind grind - story - grind grind grind etc...

Some gripes I might have would be:

The HUD map: Targets would appear and when I got closer to them they'd disappear. Drove me crazy. That and havng to switch to the large map... I wish there was a quicker way.
Characters: With such a huge game and so many characters it's hard to get any real attachment to any (except Ezio and Leonardo) or even completely follow what's going on sometimes.

And maybe it's just me but sometimes it wasn't really clear what I was supposed to be doing. Like instead of kill the target just ease drop or beat em up that kinda thing. Or having to do it without being detected. I wouldn't figure it out right away and end up doing stuff over and over until I remembered to check my objective lol. But as I said, might just be me. Sometimes I am a bit slow on the up take. ;-)
