Default NFS: Pro Street Problems

I'm having two major problems with the full game that are basically causing me at this point not to play it until they are solved.

The first one is the horrendous stuttering even though my fps is 30-50. I've dropped the resolution and my fps stays the same... (am i possibly CPU limited at 1920x1200 with everything full???) but anyway ya horrible stuttering to the point of unplayable. Stuttering ruined the last two games but it wasn't nearly as bad is this one. I've always been an ATI guy and now I've got this 8800gtx but the stuttering keeps following me. It's not an AMD vs Intel thing either because i used to have AMD now i have Intel. I've used XP 32 bit, Vista 32 bit and now Vista 64 bit and all have stuttered. Setting affinity remedies nothing.

The second problem is easily remedied but still annoying. I have to hold down the gas pedal slightly to make the menus stop skipping. I've had a similar problem in some of EA's NHL games but with the logitech controller as opposed to my sidewinder wheel. Again, operating system, cpu and vid card aren't the issue here. Neither is calibration as I've re-calibrated both several times to no avail.

To sum up, EA has the same problems across different titles in different departments (EA Games vs EA Sports) and the same problems in at least 3 versions of a series. I installed Underground 2 for some way back gaming the other day and no stuttering so the issue seems to be with the newer engine. Why it's not been fixed and is seemingly getting worse is beyond me and incredibly frustrating. I bought MW and Carbon but will not buy this one until at least the stuttering is solved. In it's current condition it is unplayable.

Anyone have any ideas on either issue?

Well, I can add my $.02. I had little to no issues with the demo version, but the retail version is giving me grief. It is playable for me, but there is stuttering. In fact, I had no stuttering in the demo so that leads me to believe that low graphics settings will atleast make it playable. I sure hope they fix it because the graphics are some of the best I've seen in a racing game. I know this doesn't help, but I feel the same pain you do.

I had some stuttering in the demo but it wasn't this bad. I stopped the full game after the first Golf GTI race because it was just unplayable. I mean I won but it's so unfun when you can't finesse the car around the track.

Btw, I'm using the latest official video and sound drivers.

GOOD! Someone else with the damn stutter problem. Its like the game is going to fast and can't keep up. I haven't turned off vsync to test this theory but at 75fps it seems to throttle itself back or choke out.

Second the keyboard controls are very flaky and doing things like the tire burnouts is VERY difficult on the keyboard.

Third surround sound sounds like crap and stereo is much better.

This game feels like a rehashed NFS: UG 1

i've only tried with vsync off. i figure when i'm not pulling 60fps there's no point cause it'll just drop it to 30 and be laggy anyway.

VSYNC on or off made no difference. Setting everything to MAX made no difference over mid/low settings. Turning AA on or off makes no difference. This has to be an in game issue, although I am starting to think it is gonna be us high res guys really seeing it the most....

just for kicks i switched views from chase cam to bumper or hood cam and it's a lot smoother. it's got to be something to do with rendering the car.

This game is garbage, don't get me wrong it looks great and everything but the game is farthest thing away from realistic. I really wish they would make a true driving simulator for the PC such as Gran Turismo HD or Forza.
