Is there anywhere i can find a gaming headset similar to those found in use for consoles. I mainly want something that is going to be small, doesnt cover/bother my ear too much, as i want to be able to use it just to chat with people while stilling being able to benefit and hear from my surround sound home theatre.
If they dont make them would this work (people claim it does)
DealExtreme: $21.05 Wireless Controller Gaming Receiver for Xbox 360 (White)
or this (no one has left feedback on it but its back by dealextremes it will work guarantee)
DealExtreme: $25.70 PC Wireless Gaming Receiver + Docking Charger Station for Xbox 360 Wireless Controller
why not just get a zalman lapel mic? That way you can still use your speakers.

I just demo'd those for awhile; they may be too much for your use but they are really nice for low a profile headset.
I second Technokat, I have that little mic and it keeps impressing me. It's hooked on the wire coming out of my keyboard and I don't have to raise my voice while in game to be heard properly.
PM it and it's a steal.
Ya I'll be getting that zalman clip on mic for use with my headphones cause right now I just wrap my PC151's around my neck and use the mic. You could either get that or if you ahve a PS3 just get a BT adapter for your PC and some software to run it and your good to go.
I have the 360 headset, hence why i linked those two links from dealextreme
I use that zalman mic as well have it connected to my hd-555's.
I use a Sennheiser PC350 with my Azuntech Forte and love it.
You can price match it now at Onhop for $135
Ghlin, if you read my original post i DO NOT want one of those headsets at all, i want either a mic that doesn't pick up ambient noise, sits in one ear or an adapter for my 360 headset. I DO NOT want a regular headset (2 ears/covers the entire ear and suffocates it)
So can't you use what you linked? It should work since the headset uses the same kind of signal as the wireless headset (IR). I use the official MS PC wireless adapter for using the controllers on my PC, but MS has stopped producing them. I don't see why it wouldn't work. Not sure if it will function with just the MS software for using the controllers or not though. So if you want something guaranteed, get that zalman mic that has been suggested, or try out the wireless adpater for your 360 headset. This is the thing that I have:
