Default Unigine Heaven 2, Tesselation, and directx 11

We talk about the new Fermi, but those last day we have the release of the new Unigine Heaven 2, I download it, it's very funny to play with the setting to find difference betwen directx 9,10,11 and the tessellation , So I start this tread to talk about all those thing , I will first post 2 pics , the first one in directx 11 , and the second also with directx11 with the tesselation set at extreme , I don't know but for me the stone look less realistic with the tessellation set to high, how you can walk on the path .. I will take a shoot a the rope later, this is where it's way better with tessellation

Well that is how old-timey roads were... they didn't have so many flat rocks...

Sure they did. The "technology" to flatten the surfaces of stones isn't exactly a recent invention.

And I'll add a teaser of another DX11 benchmark that will soon be released:

StoneGiant

It is based off of a game engine being developed by some veterans of the game industry.

GRIN, eh? Those guys know how to write engines, but hopefully they'll learn to develop a decent game this time around.

It's probably an over exaggerated attempt at an eroded road. I've stood on a 2000 year old road and I can concur... they had flat stones then too. ;-)

Cool Stone Giant thing... makes me think of God of War 3.

I hope they understand that being more realistic does not mean less flat.
