one thing you guys might want to know.

Pirates are the ones bringing down the DRM, so they can play flawlessly.

Well I can't condone their actions, but I certainly hope that Ubisoft stops using this kind of DRM.

I won't pay for one of their games that has this DRM.

I didn't mention that I won't play, however.

I see what you did there. (And it's going to be the same here.)

I have my doubts that a cmd ping "attack" took it down, but w/e. If so, Ubi has some pretty fail servers I would think...

(unless someone who knows anything about networking can prove me wrong).

ya it shouldn't, they should have the ping response turned off, I just tried it just for fun, no response.. meh.
must be more to it, I don't know much about DOS attacks, not directly in my line of work.

Still, Ubisoft went looking for a fight, seems they found it. haha, second weekend in a row I think..

And of course the reason they're doing it in the first place is specifically to prove to Ubisoft that their system is not infallible as they claim it is. Everybody loses except for the pirates.

Somebody at Ubi probably 'just kicked out the cord by accident' again. I think they used that line one looong weekend when the RvS master server went down on Friday and didn't come back up till Tuesday.

If enough people do it then yeah, it'll take it down. No matter how big the server is.

No one remembers that tool "mafiaboy"? He took down Dell, CNN, ebay and others.

He ended up writing a book acting like he was some big time hacker instead of the complete dumbshit he actually was.

Anyway, even stupid/retarded/open mouth breathers can take down a domain under the right circumstances.

Mafiaboy took over some university servers IIRC. This is a bunch of people using CMD.... Ubisofts servers must REALLY be fail.
