Hopefuly it has something to do with whatever idiot decided to use a P2P scheme for their server hosting on COD2, thus ensuring problems with any of the major ISPs which do traffic shaping.

It looks like alot of the BS comes from Activison .... IW were pushing back.

Exactly. Two if IW's heads just got canned and Activision is refusing to pay them the money they owe them via their contract. Rumors I heard was that Activison got word of a intending mutiny and nipped in the bud (over the crap Activison forced on IW over MW2). HOPEFULLY Activision losses and not only has to pay a boat load of money to them....the developers all leave and form a competitor and the game MW2 SHOULD have been. Call it Duty of Call: Warfare 2 Modern....and I'b buy it. and I HATED MW2!

Agreed, I really do hope the IW heads win and start their own studio (again) with the money Activision owns them. Seems like Activision is the new EA

this story will get more intresting as it develops over the next couple of years. I expect the owners of IW will eventually sue and possibly win. If activision thinks those two guys won't get hired by another company within weeks of this firing they are crazy.

Perhaps they will get hired. Unless there was something in the contract, that the IW guys can not work for another company for x amount of time .

Still pissed about the no dedicated servers for MW2.

But the nice thing is I just discovered a COD4 FreezeTag server/mod.

They are in California. Cali law states that contract clauses which prohibit you from working for a competitor in a given field for X amount of time are null as long as it would be a hardship. Since ALL other game development companies would be competition for Activision this would qualify as a hardship. IF they want to go to work for XYZ tomorrow Activision cant do jack to stop them.
