Can't seem to get into the demo too much. The controls are way too clunky for my tastes.

What's the engine called?

I thought it was the U3.5 engine?

Played the demo. The controls are ... not great. Played as an Alien and a Marine. The Marine was more intuitive of course. Alien controls are downright clunky. Jumping around walls and ceilings felt more like floating around the map except where you "float" to is inconsistent. From what I have read the SP is short and basically tacked on (ironic I know). The MP might strike a chord with some but imo, it isn't going to steal any thunder from BC2 or MP staples already out there.

Rebellion's track record as of late is not looking good. AVP, Rogue Warrior, Shellshock 2.... (Ya I never played those either lol). Not sure if it's because of budgets, publisher pressure, a crappy team or a combination of issues?

I believe it's an in house engine, at least that's what Rebellion says. It's called Asura. There's some talk that it is a modified Id tech 4 engine. But I can't confirm that.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr gamestop STILL does NOT have it in. Well, only pre-orders for the console came in, not PC. Why must PC gamers suffer!

This game is a lot of fun. I have beaten the alien and predator campaign. Just have the humans left. Graphics are great. For some reason I can play the DX11 version but it lags a lot.

Gamestop finally called me today to tell me they have my copy! I've been playing it for the last hour and so far its a great game. Although I had a little hiccup when I first tried to play it. Every time I loaded a level, my game would crash. After looking on steams forum, it seems certain driver/system configurations along with v-Sync and Reduce Mouse Lag enabled can cause this problem. Disable one, or two of those options, or use the DX9 version of the client. I disabled v-Sync and mouse and lag and presto, I could play the game. With all the settings jacked up to high, its been smooth as silk :) The atmosphere of the game is great. Quite a few times I've jumped because of an Alien popping out of no where. I've started on the humans and can't wait to play the Predator and Alien missions.
