It is DotA, it is an RPG played from an RTS perspective.

Yeah, but you only control one character, you gain XP and level up, and there's no base or unit building to speak of. It is sort of an RPG/RTS hybrid, but I think it leans heavily toward the RPG side.

Not really, 50USd was too much I agree, it probably should have retailed for 30 or so initially. The game isn't bad, it is just that the gameplay doesn't necessarily appeal to everyone and it is (for me at least) more fun/interesting when playing with people you know.
