Anyone still experiencing freezing problems when multicore rendering is enabled? I have a intel QUAD core machine with 4 gb RAM and 150 gb Raptor drive with windows 7 64 bit running ..and I still have the "once in awhile freezing" ... and btw, I am using an XFX 9800 GTX+ 512 megs vid card..

Common problem amongst Nvidia cards. They have yet to fix it. I'm using some ancient drivers to fix it

no problems with ATI cards?... I usually turn off multicore rendering... but that is defeating the purpose of having a Quad core or even a dual core...

When I switched from a 4850 to a GTX295, I had severe stutters with multicore rendering on. After a day of tweaking, going back to old drivers and such, I can finally play it with SLi off, and multicore rending off.

I have an ATI card (4890) and quad core (q9550) with muticore rendering turn on and I don't have any problems. When you get into a situation with A LOT of zombies then you are going to wish you have muticore turned on. I use to be able to max out my e8400 (3.6Ghz) alot of the time but with a quad core at 3.6Ghz I usually hit about 50-60% each core.

I have no problems with L4D 1 .. everything runs smooth like buttah... I thought L4D 2 would be an improvement over the first one...

I'm in the same boat as Varroa. Q9400 and a 4890 on win 7 64-bit - zero problems.

Nvidia's new drivers fixed the issues for multicore rendering and GTX295 Sli for me, as of this morning. Give it a try.
