lol last lweekthe PS3 adapter was 5$ at NCIX. was a pretty good deal. IMO the PS3 is better then Xbox 360, first of all, lookfor sure. Second, Built in power supply. The 360 have a big grays external power supply which can get really hot I don't know why she can suck this much electricity. 3 The blu-ray, actually the PS3 always get the blu-ray update first so you always have a up to date reader, I have few costumer complaining with the plextor blu-ray drive that it can't read some disk because of a version error...wierd at all...4 price, 299 no more ( game are excluded because you always buy 2 or 3 with a new console) In both case you also have to buy the HDMI cable but that's not a problem. 5 The F****** blutooth. You can use every single phone BT earphone with the PS3 or get theSony one ( which have pretty good sound quality ) for like 59.99 and use it with your phone. No need to buy extra microphone or thing like that. The remote is also nice for blu-ray she have a tons of option and only 29.99:), there is also a logitech adapter for Harmony remote to work on the PS3. That's nice. There is many other reason to get the PS3 over the Xbox. If you take alittle resume of every post, there is a lot more argument for PS3 compare to 360.

Arguments about hardware are useless anyway, I could have a PS7 brought to me from the future and it wouldnt do me any good...

Look at what games you want to play, if you want to play them with friends, and if so what your friends have. Whatever console fits the best is the one to get.

The only issue is that most of your points are personal choices or opinions.
1) Looks - totally personal opinion. I think the Elite looks better than the PS3. PS3 looks better than any WHITE 360.
2) Outside power supply - not really a pro or con in any way, I like being able to disconnect my 360 and take it to friends houses without having to take my cables(I have a spare set at my friends house). The power brick being hot doesn't really matter either, I'd rather all that heat outside of my console instead of being inside.
3) Blu-ray - Never watched a single blu ray movie and I never plan on switching unless DVDs become obsolete. Personal choice for anyone buying a console. It would be like saying the 360 > Wii because it plays DVDs and the Wii doesn't without mods(if they had equal hardware and games of course).
4) Set cost - HDMI cable came with my 360, as far as I know none of the PS3s come with one but it's a null point as a cable costs like $3. The PS3 comes with wireless built in, 360 doesn't, but wireless is something that not everyone needs, I didn't mind paying $90 for my adapter when I moved and the router was in the basement and I was on the top floor. I spent that $90 2 years after having my 360 so it wasn't a big deal for me.
5) Bluetooth - never used any bluetooth device in my life so I can't really comment on this besides the "extra" costs that the 360 apparently has. The 360 comes with a wired heatset, a wireless one is $60(probably the same as PS3), and the remote for the 360 costs the same as the PS3 one as well.

There are things the PS3 has and things the 360 has. Most of the complains I've seen are about aesthestics. Complaining about things like having to pay for wireless a moot point though. Yes, it should be included in the 360 but if you don't want to pay nearly $100 for the adapter then don't. Take your laptop(if you have one) and bridge the wireless to the 360 at NO EXTRA COST. You can also spend $20 on a cheap wireless router and use it as a bridge to your other router. There are other options, hell there are even 3rd party wireless adapters that cost half of what MS is charging for theirs.

As for the OPs needs. If you play FPS, racing and sports games I'd suggest the 360. The online is better from what I hear and there are more players overall that are online for CoD, NHL10, and Forza.

For mods. Right now you can use the firmware mods offline. With the new waves of games(wave 4 and 5) the video partition is written differently which flags modded consoles. Probably within a month the new firmware will be out which will get around that issue, it's just a matter of waiting, which I'm doing at the moment actually.

Personally I'd never buy a PS3 as there is nothing on there that interests me that I can't get on the 360. I've spent more money on games by Nintendo in the past year than I ever will on a Sony product, and I've only spent $60 on NSMB Wii.

It is not the wave 4 and 5 games causing it. There are people who havent played wave 4 or 5 games AT ALL and are being banned. The most agreed on theory out there seems to be that since modded firmware drives run copied games at a slightly different speed, ms is using the performance information of the drive through the new dashbox update to detect modded firmware. So theoretically people who play mostly legal games, and only play copied games every once in a while will be fine as the average performance numbers havent shown enough of a difference to be flagged. I believe teamjungle is actually testing this theory at the moment with new firmware. Anyways modding is fail right now, its caused hundreds of thousands of 360s to be essentially bricked.
Anyways the point you made about everyones posts being "opinions" is valid, and also pointless to say. Generally when someone asks which they should get they ARE asking for peoples opinions on which one THEY think is better. In my mind it happens to be the ps3.

xbox 360 hardware - no wireless (can buy a wireless adapter),
- left analog stick positioned better for action/shooting games.
- wireless controllers are heavier and battery die faster

ps3 games - killzone 2, final fantasy series, GT5 and more
ps3 hardware - builtin wireless
- connect up to 7 controllers
- Blu-Ray
- ps3 is now priced competitively against xbox360 with the introduction of slim version to cut production costs
- swap in a harddrive of your choice ( less than 250gb)

In terms of graphics, they are nearly identical. They are hardly noticeable in games.

Whoever said that the PS3 has better graphics.... that's not 100% correct. The PS3 is capable of better graphics (and some exclusives do/will probably show thsi), but in a number of multi-platform games the 360 versions have come out much better looking (Fallout 3 is one example, there were several others I read about, but can't remember off the top of my head). I think it usually depends on what system they were originally designed for but often more games are developped for the 360 first and later ported to PS3 than the other way around.

Both systems have some good exclusives, but I think it comes down to whatever games you want to play get the system that has the most.
Heck if a new Chrono Trigger game came out for a system I didn't have, I'd snatch it up in an instant :D

PS3 games - Handful of exclusives you listed, nothing to rave about except the fanboy favorite Uncharted 2. GT5 will come as soon as Diablo III is released...It's only been how many years...

Let me just rebut your points here
- 7 controllers..for what? Divide your screen into 7 pieces and see how fun any game is.
- It's cheaper now but again, you buy the console to play games on, so far the games for PS3..for the last few years, are still pretty dry
-Porn stash stays on a real computer, and both consoles are able to stream media. No need to boast a huge HDD on console just cause.


Graphics are hardly identical. PS3 has the potential, but if only they didn't make the dev pack a pain in the butt, they would have the opportunity to use that power.

Comes down to what you want to use the system for. For me personally, the X360 has all the games I am interested in, and doubles as my personal media center. When I want to play multiplayer, XBL provides the best service. Thus X360 gets my choice..for the last 5 years.

^^^ erm FF13 is on PS3 too. And the audio will be compressed on the 360 and will not sound as good. It's also shipping on like 3 or 4 discs for the 360 compared to a signle bluray for the PS3. As for XBL, ya it's a little more fluent, but PSN still has most of the same features as XBL except you don't pay $60 a year for it. One good thing about XBL is the party feature where you can create a party of players and stay in it while crossing games and such. I've stopped using my 360 all together now basically since I finished palying Fable 2. Halo is for noobs, don't play Project Gotham, don't play Forza (not huge into racing games) and Mass Effect is on PC. As for 7 controller support that's more for games like NHL, or NBA or other games where it's the entire screen and you can see all players. There are no games that will divide the screen into 7 lol. As for graphics, thet 360 has already been maxed. FF13 is suppsoed to take full potential of PS3, and God of War 3 should come close to that as well. Oh and PS3 = bluray player. Devs just use the excuse that PS3 is harder to develop for because they dont want to learn. Look at the exclusive titles for PS3. Also hardware failure rate for 360s is unbelievable. All people that I know that own 360s have had the RROD at LEAST once, and is some cases numerous times. My controller's batteries still last a quite a while and I've had one of them since the PS3 came out however many years ago and it can still alst for days. No need to pay for AA batteries... Just plug it in via USB and charge er up. Sure you can get rechargable battery packs for 360 but again your paying more for something PS3 includes. Wireless adapter for 360 = $90???? 120GB hard drive upgrade is like $150?? That's insane. And streaming 1080p over wireless just doesn't work so the ability to throw in a 500gb hard drive is awesome. Load it with some 1080p movies and run them off the HDD. Most people don't have terrabytes of space on their PCs either.

Yeah I love the fact that PS3 can take laptop HDDs. Got a SSD for my laptop and put my old drive in the PS3 and now I have 320GB. My 360 only has a 20GB harddrive. A couple of demos and games installed and it's full.
