Default Torchlight (Diablo 2.5?)

Just heard about this game today.

Made by a couple of the developers from Diablo & Diablo 2 (Schaefer brothers)
If you were a fan of D/D2 it sounds like your kind of game to scratch the itch until D3 arrives.
$20 on Steam too, so seems like a good deal.

Torchlight by Runic Games

Anyone tried it yet? Impressions?

Game actually looks great, had my eye on it for a while. And the pre-order was $18 IIRC. I will totally nab this when I am done with Borderlands, someday in the distant future.

I bought it. It definately has that diabloesqe vibe about it. The guy who did the music for the game is the same guy who did the original diablo music. worth the 20 bux imo.

There's a demo on Steam. Doesn't seem to list it on the home page, but go to the product page, and the demo option is there. It's not bad at all, actually. I think I'll probably wind up getting it.

Just played the demo for about an hour and I love it. I'm pretty sure I'll be buying it as well.

OK I purchased this game Friday night & spent ALL WEEKEND playing it. The Diablo comparisons are bang on. Music is the same, gameplay is pretty much the same, item system is the same. All with shiny new high-res graphics. Unfortunately, no multi-player as yet, but there are a lot worse ways to spend $20

AA doesn't seem to work in-game (Nvidia issue maybe?), but in you force supersampling from the control panel, it really crisps the graphics up, even at 25x16.

Supposedly, they want to put out a MMO version of this, not sure if I like it that much, but this game is fairly entertaining for the price, if you like the genre.

I played this in beta when it was still called Mythos. Even a long time ago the amount of content was stunning and it was very pretty.

I am not a big fan of the Diablo style game but I am going to put the beta on my 'to play' list
