Completely different kinds of games. I'm personally not interested in L4D or L4D2 at all, but I'm really looking forward to Borderlands.

If you read up on it a bit it's more like an FPS/Diablo with 4 man co-op. There's lots of guns, lots of shooting, questing, vehicles and tons of loot. There are 4 character classes each with a special ability and a skill tree to upgrade. You can swap out skills so you are never stuck with something you don't like or isn't useful anymore. You can play solo or in co-op. Not really like L4D at all actually.
