My System Specs

Default My PS3 just bit the dust!

Yeah, I guess it was bound to happen. My 60GB PS3 just died. Well, the weird thing is that it still plays DVDs and PS2 games but no Bluray or PS3 games? I did some quick research and think its the Bluray diode that is gone. Ah well. I was thinking that I may just put it up for sale and put the money towards a decent PC. I have now had an Xbox and PS3 die on me in the last three years. Should I become a full time PC Gamer now? I certainly will miss some of the proprietary console games...

What do you guys think?

lol, baking will probably not solve a problem relating to the optics of the bluray reader in a PS3, but it may be worth a shot. Either way... I'm willing to bite.

Well that was a joke, of course! I rather see it being modded by CMetaphor than going the BBQ way!

I have yet to determine the results of my Maximus formula bake. A header pin fell off I think..

Don't bake it. just replace the drive or sell it to someone to be modded.

I bet if you check on your local Kijiji you'd find a dude willing to fix your PS3 for cheap. I know in the Halifax area there is atleast two guys who offer to fix Xbox and PS3's for about 50 bucks.
