In honour of Diablo 3
1 Attachment(s)
This is for people who want to start from scratch, playing together with no loot whores for Diablo 2 with LoD.

This will be on Ladder.

Those looking for the D2 run tonight, i'll be making a game at 9:45pm EST, we WON'T be starting till 10. Post a message here (so people know this thing is still active for tonight) and send me a pm with your account/character name, class, and what "party" size you prefer. I will be replying back my account/character name, game name and password.

This will be on USEast on Ladder, LoD enabled characters only

I should mention that i'd like to do it in Bnet and would like a wide assortment of classes (i'm thinking of playing an assassin)

I'm in, but I have to find my Diablo CD. I have my LOD CD tho

Dwayne August 23, 2009 08:05 PM

I have not played D2 in a couple of years. I never did play online either, solo all the way... I guess I heard too many bad things about BNet. Question, is there a way to play in wide screen resolutions? I remember playing on my old 19" CRT but have not tried it on a wide screen.

Arinoth August 23, 2009 08:15 PM

Resolution is stuck highest 800 x 600 and i have no idea how to get it to go above but i remember i've at least played it in windowed mode

im in, barb all the way. i will intall tomorow after work.

Depends on what time you plan to play, but I'd love to join in if I can. I usually play a Sorceress.

With regards to the resolution issue brought up above: 800x600 is the highest supported resolution. There is a hack to use higher resolutions in single player mode. I don't remember where to get it offhand, but I'm sure Google can turn it up for you if you want it.

I've been told it is considered cheating to use it in multiplayer, and the servers can apparently even detect it by tracking how often your client requests new map tiles.

I'm not a big Diablo guy so I might be getting this a little wrong, but my understanding of the reason is this: The visuals do not scale along with resolution, so using a higher resolution just gives you a larger view area. Blizzard felt that gave an unfair advantage to people with hardware supporting high resolutions, so they prevented use of higher resolutions.

I might be in, just gotta find my old discs!

I have 2 D2 classic discs/keys but no LOD CD or key. Would be willing to trade one classic for a LOD if anyone has it to spare. That, or just play classic. I always preferred classic anyhoo.
