Default Wife Wants to Buy Me a Game!!!

Anyways, my wife (God bless her) wants to buy me a PC game for Christmas. So either she really loves me and cares about my sanity when I'm on the road (lots) or she wants me to spend even more time away from her (at home) than I already do (I like to think it's the prior and not the latter reason).

I like most single person RPGs, FPS wRPG elements, strategic military sims (not so much RTS). I can't keep up with everything that's coming out as I'm just too busy. I've already pre-ordered DA:O, but I'm thinking about maybe Mass Effect 2 (don't know release date yet).

Realize that there are a lot of older games which fit the above description that I haven't yet played, so don't just worry about new releases. Any suggestions from our crowd? Thanks in advance everyone.

Fallout 3? Arma 2? I think Mass Effect 2 is your best bet, pick up Mass Effect for cheap (like $10) and level a character to prepare.

She's a keeper!

Grab Fallout 3 and all its DLCs, or Mass Effect 2

I played Fallout 3 to the end then picked up the Broken Steel DLC so I can get to level 30 and play it some more. DA:O looks like it should be awesome, same for Mass Effect 2.

I think Fallout 3 if she's buying now. Also The Witcher would be a sweet choice. If Dragon Age comes out before xmas than that would be a great one for you too.

Aren't there tons of mods to remove the level limit?

Possibly on the PC version, I've only played Fallout 3 on the XBox360.
If you haven't tried it, Oblivion is another good one with all it's addons as well.

I'd take the witcher over Oblivion. Fallout 3 is your best bet.

Seems like Fallout 3 suites you very well.

I do not know if you like that kind of game, but isn't Assassin's Creed II getting released by the end of november?

If its the PC version you can use the console and basically make the game however you want with tons of built in commands (as long as you know em). Funny thing is that it can help lead you to a perfect gamer score for some of those quests that are too much of a pain in the ass to do.
