I tried eve once, but i thought it was so slow and complicated in the beginning I found myself getting bored :P Yes, i have a short attention span, i know. That was kind of a cool video, and it does make me want to give it another shot..

I have to agree. I used to play eve from beta, to launch and then for another 1-2 years after. Its a great game but I constantly found myself getting bored. Now I tend to go back once a year for about a month or so and check out what's new but I always get bored and quit again..

Sadly its just too slow at times and isn't for everyone. But it is a great game which is very well developed and I actually applaud CCP (the developers) for turning it into what it is. They honestly have poured their heart and soul into the game with constant updates, balances, fixes and free expansions. Their net-code is fantastic compared to games like World of Warcraft/Warhammer online, but it has to be for the sheer amount of players you can have in a system at any given time. There also used to be a lot of online mini stories too to help drive the overall universe and give it real depth, but im not sure if they still do that these days.

If you haven't tried it before I would say definitely give the free trial a whirl. You'll be pleasantly surprised... just be sure to give it some time. It starts out awful boring but they have done a lot to try and improve that.

Great game, I love it, usedto play, once I have cash flow, will play again.

I love the EVE Universe, unlike real life I'm moderately rich in it.

its a slow burn game....it takes time....its not one of those games you can put in a ton of hours and have a awesome character. There isnt levels in the game, and all skills can only be learned by training them in real time. The nice thing about the game is the training goes on in the background so you dont even need to be playing and you are gaining skill. Its more about the social interaction and corperate interaction, infighting, trading etc. If you are more into something that is a slower pace, check it out. Just give it a bit to grow on you. IT wont hit you in the face with awesomeness right out the box like most games. There is a lot to learn, use other people, get to know them, as they are your lifeline, this isnt a solo game.

When I last played, I played the lone wolf just fine, however I do have a massive network of friends built up incase I ever need to deal, move some "stuff", help, or generally bored and help others. If your up to it, you can play the lonewolf, and solo the game just fine, but its not *usually* the most fun way to play, you do block off a portion of game content(corp mechanics mostly) by doing it(not that its necessarily portions a lonewolf cares about though).

That being said, being a part of a GOOD corp/guild was MUCH more fun.

They are called Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games(MMORPG) for a reason.

I've started and stopped playing EVE so many times over the years, I just don't have the attention span for it. It's really too bad though, as the concept and the look and feel of the game are awesome.
