Default Braid

Just tried the demo out for this well put together 2D sidescroller and time bending adventure. The game is beautiful to look at with its painterly style and offers some very clever gameplay. It's on sale on Impulse for $11 CDN this weekend and is also available on Steam for $15.

It's just nice to take a break from the core games and these indie titles are a great distraction. Give the demo a try!

FFWD a bit in the vid to get to the action.

I always wanted to try this game. It seem to have the old Super Mario Bro feel.

I bet it on XBLA when it was pretty new, completely awesome game. The last level is my favorite by far.
Some of the secret stars and absolutely insane to get. I only got like the easiest two and that still took a good while.

Spoilers:

I found it a bit weird that the game was actually a big metaphor in the end for a pretty important subject. It also felt extremely weird but awesome how they revealed that you were the "bad guy" the whole time.

I don't entirely buy that whole "secret explanation". It's there, but only in a vague sense. There's a fine line between symbolism and "Didn't bother filling in the blanks", and I'm not entirely decided on which side the game fell under.

Still, it was a refreshing game to play.

After playing the game through normally I didn't buy it either, but seeing what happens after you get all of the stars and the fact that the game was release on August 6th I did.

I'm excited for that new game. I loved Braid.
