Question Buying Games

Hello folks,

I am in the Calgary area and looking for a good place to buy PC games. By "good" I mean having a decent selection, not just the same half a dozen. A good on-line site would be fine too, used would also be good. I'm behind the curve most of the time (cheap too) and thus am usually looking for games that have been out a while, as opposed to the latest (most expensive) releases.

Thanks in advance,

~RainMaker

Steam FTW!

http://www.steampowered.com

Best way to get games i've ever used. Can download it once, transfer them around on a usb hard drive and play them on any one of your systems, provided that system is the only one that's logged into Steam at the time.

Also, no more fumbling to hunt down and find CD keys, once you've ordered it, its locked into your Steam account so you never have to worry about them again

I like the looks of that, but what about games that are not on there? I.e. Gears of War, Never Winter Nights.

I put my dibs in for steam too, but i also use Direct2Drive from time to time as well. Beyond that, i mainly just use EB, or Futureshop, or Bestbuy. But they tend to be hit or miss.

For example Battlefield 2 was not on Steam, but it was available for download from EA site, also there's Direct2Drive, haven't tried though.

ToysR'us is a good place for console games, I remember GTAIV was sold out on day one, I went to local ToysR'us and picked up a copy without line or reservation.
