Oh you also want to keep an eye out for legit free games. Over at gamershell.com they have full games for free like Far Cry and PoP Sands of Time plus many others. At EA you can get the original Red Alert & Battleforge and don't forget about FEAR Combat and Quake Live! I am sure there's more out there too.

Yes, I use steampowered to buy most of my PC games.

the steam version of company heroes requires that you be logged onto their servers inorder play singleplayer/multiplayer though.

steam is great but sometime their prices are high.
Here are my options:
GamersGate - Buy and download games now
Direct2Drive: Download PC Games and Arcade Games Now at D2D

They give you codes which can be activated through steam and EA download manager.
