Default Activating Fallout 3 DLC

Hey all,

I just decided to cash in and buy the Broken Steel DLC for Fallout 3. I downloaded it from the games for windows client. However, much to my disappointment, when I played the game through from my last save before activating the purifier, I was greeted with the same ending cut scene and credits; no waking up two weeks later. I was wondering if anybody else has had similar problems, and if so, solutions?

Thanks!

Wolf

The GFWL setup in Fallout 3 can be finicky and sometimes causes problems. Some players opt to simply move the DLC files to Fallout 3's Data folder and treat them as normal mods. This is not officially supported, but many players have found it to be less problematic.

If you want to try it, read the "Playing Offline" section at the bottom of this article: Fallout 3 add-ons - The Vault, the Fallout wiki - Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas and more

The article mentions .esm and .bsa files, however for Broken Steel you will also need to move the .bik video files to your Fallout 3\Data\Video folder.

Ok, I'll give it a shot. That's good too, cause I can't find my fallout 3 activation key.

Well that failed miserably. I get past the final cut scene, but when Broken Steel starts, I'm pinned under some sort of table, and can only make grasping noises by pressing E. Does the game have to be patched for this to work right? Or did GFW catch on?
