I would like to see it happen, but I dont expect it to be cheaper than the models that are currently out.
Maybe sony will drop prices on the "fat" PS3's once these come out. Then you might get one for xmas.

hey i don't mind the fat one, coz the fat ones are usually better. IE: my phat PS2 has better cooling that the slim versions.

Likely the 80GB PS3 will be replaced with 160GB and we will see price drops on both the current gen PS3 and the 360 this fall.

While Pegatron and Foxconn may be producing this, why is there a Canadian-localized box? GB is supplemented by the French equivalent, GO.

Anyhow, I'm skeptical about the Slim altogether. If they axe all of the amazing home entertainment features of the very first batch of PlayStation 3, then you are simply buying nothing more than an N64: a box good only for connecting controllers and playing games.

I remember the PSOne (although I never used one).
I played a Slim PS2 and remember it easily overheating if you put it on a blanket (IE Bed comforter) - but it you put it on a DVD Case it seemed fine. STILL, I would greatly prefer the Slim PS2 over the fat one even knowing how it likes to run too hot.
I have owned a 360 for a few years, and a Wii for about a year. I tend to own every "Main stream" game system since the PSX or N64 - So its likely just a matter of time before I get a PS3. I am excited to hear of a Slim PS3 and I eagerly look forward to it. It is such a crying shame that the PS3 lost its backwards game compatible - Had it not, I would surely own one already. I will likely wait for a few months after the Slim PS3 comes out so I can see if it behaves like it should - and decide - Slim, Regular, or a First Version with full backwards compatible.

I look forward to seeing more of it :)

Slim consoles means to be more overheating and more fragile imo. Anyone has space for a console, i rather get a fat ps3... especially if it gets cheapers.

I just wish that the current PS3 was flat on that one side and had a matte finish...
