Default Cloud Rendering

Cloud Computing(Rendering) seems to be moving in the right direction; will it put all of us hardware geeks on the sideline? time will tell.

It is impressive, but i guess you will have to pay for such a service and in a long term, it'd be worth it to buy your own hardware.

Anyone has an idea how this can affect our download bandwidth?

It's funny, when comps hit the mainstream in business and such it was all mainframe with terminals. Then we got personal computers and the market shifted. Now all these companies are trying to go back to mainframes (in a sort of way) with their "cloud" solutions (Google Docs, Acrobat.com, Cloud Rendering ...). I don't know about anyone else but I much prefer the idea of keeping my stuff as my stuff. Whether it be business or pleasure, I don't want it floating around out there in the cloud all the time. :\
