I don't feel this game is even worth $30.

I tried it and the controls on the PC are horrible and drove me batty!

This might sound rediculous, but do you have an Xbox controller or something similar to try with it? It might feel more comfortable with hack and slash games. God of War felt amazing on a controller.

Sandbox games are not really my bag. I find they are fun for a little while but really I get bored of them in a couple hours. But any reviews I've read have given this game fairly positive light. Complaints I read about are textures are crappy. From the ground the game looks alright but scale a building and everything goes to the crapper. And lasting appeal seems to be a point of contention... I guess it depends on how much fun you find the game play. If you like GTA type games and have to find every vehicle/item/secret etc... then you will probably think $60+ for 31 missions and a ton of carnage is good value.

When I read reviews that the graphics options were all but no shows and the pc version had poor controls my brain said myeh..

If the console world wants to make a good port to pc bring on Infamous and they can keep games like prototype and red faction: guerrilla for the pre-teen console "press X button faster" set. Don't get me wrong here I like mindless games low on plot and high on destructible environments but my brain needs just a smattering of attention. While the action in this type of game is satisfying when it wanes the lack of world detail and intelligent plot usually leaves me wanting. I'll take a pass on prototype. "Arcade fun, arcade depth" bleh
