I've yet to play a CodeMasters driving game that I didn't like, as strange as that is. They rank pretty high on my list of developers...Colin McCrae series, TOCA series, DiRT, GRiD, and now Fuel, all have a spot on my pc games shelf.

DiRT 2 is looking very promising as well. Fuel can entertain me until then!

Codemasters should stay in the Driving Games genre. Damnation was a shame.

I'm not sure whic hversion I wll end up with...might jsut rent the PS3/XBOX360 versions and decide from there...hopefully a pc demo will surface too...but I envision a 3GB download for a demo......far too large.


GFWL has worked pretty good for me. Even with like Halo2, that I have to call in to get activated every time I install...like an OS...at least controlelr layouts are working well, and updates are pushed in the game, rather than hunting for them online...and if it's monitoring my usages..fine...at least they might meet my needs a bit better.

Of course, it's not needed at all, but it can come in handy from time to time...as long as it's not like GTA4...GFWL, AND the Rockstar software......and far better than them using StarForce, or other DRM software, as they have in the past. I'm more than happy to see GFWL in CodeMaster's software.

For me GFWL killed things for me when it

A) Nuked all of my saved games in Fallout 3 when it was released in a patch. You could only access old saved games by logging OUT of GFWL.

B) Acted like a fool in Dawn of War II

I think we can safely say that this problem is one of many that still plague Fallout3. When that issue isn't present in other games...it's not GFWL at fault.

StarForce sucks in so many other ways, that GFWL seems almost welcome. I understand why it's there, and no, I don't really like it, but the alternatives are far worse, IMHO.
