Anyone ever heard of this game design doctrine or the game Interstellar Marines?

I think I might have to check it out more.

Yeeeaaah! but it needs lasers and bees shooting out of the shark-dogs' mouths.

PC gaming seems to be hurting these days but it's nice to see the indie game scene flourishing thanks to digital distribution.

I'll tell you something; after picking up Resistance 2 which is supposedly on of the (if not THE) shooter to have on the PS3, I have officially given up on consoles as proper FPS platforms. Not only does the darn thing default to 720P but there is no AA and the controls are twitchy as hell.

Interstellar Marines however...I will be picking it up for the PC the SECOND it is released if only to support the movement these guys are trying to start.

Not meaning to necro this post, but i didnt want to start a new post.

Thought i would bring this back to light. I think its a good cause to support. They have a bunch of playable stuff on their page now, as well as a new vid.

Is it just me or do I not see what makes this different from all the other FPSes out there. What makes this so innovative?

it is innovative because it is a grass roots endeavor. Going for a triple a style game, with no backing or funding indie. Paid for by the fans, much like minecraft. Not being held back or influenced by big business or stock investors. It is a game company directly connected to its fans.
