Doom 4 is not a sequeal, nor a reboot... o_O?

What do you think it is? I kind of hope that it's what the original Doom I and II were like, but with somewhat of a story. I loved getting mauled by a HUGE horde of those creatures from Hell, knowing that I had to fight my way through it. I think that it should take place on earth and the moons again, with a complete war going on between Earth and Hell. The whole level idea was a great way to take a break from all the action involved. Maybe add the story there? Oh, and maybe a little direction would help too.

The whole items, switches and key idea was great, i.e. the Red, Blue and Yellow keys. I'd love to see it back again.

I think a lot of upcoming games should go back to their roots. I could care less about the graphics, I just want a darned good game. Hell! Lots of monsters means lots of co-op play online!

Hopefully they are using a new engine and not just a heavily upgraded engine from doom 3. (idtech3? was that it?)
The feel of the mouse control in doom 3 and quake 4 was awful.

iD has been working on a new engine over the last few years tho I can't remember the name of it now.

Doom 3 was using the id Tech 4 engine, and the upcoming one should be id Tech 5.

It's actually a quite nice looking engine, if you check some clips from the game Rage.

Doom 3 co-op style ala L4D? Or Maybe a parallel storyline ala Warhead? Doom 3 looked great and had some good scares but demons popping from dark doorways got pretty tired. Doubt I'd ever play it through again. I liked Quake 4 better.
