I also think it was over rated and the ending made the game not worth it. How are they going to make a sequel to a crappy ending. I will probably try it but I hope it gets better. Too many flaws with the first one.

I hope they make this 4th installment of System Shock a little harder than the last one. *snicker
But in all seriousness I played Bioshock on a old P4 with a Radeon 9600 and didn't have shader model 3 and after much fuss I got it to play with no water textures whatsoever. I really hope they make this game with more PC bells and whistles because I'm getting rather tired of ports being so dumbed down and don't scale up to the more powerful capabilities that PCs have over every other console. And dear god please let them have a more varied soundtrack, I got so sick of that one main song by the end of the game I just shut the music right off. All gripes aside I truley loved playing Bioshock and I hope BS2 is every bit as enjoyable to play as the last.

I'm not sure I understand, you played this game with the lowest of low settings, and are complaining because it wasn't next-gen enough for you?

Heh, I haven't finished the first game first, I've only just gotten to the part where you find out that.... well I won't spoil the game for those who haven't played but I've met "my" and the sisters "creator", those who have played the game should know what I mean.

I guess I could have explained better Thunder. I was put off by the graphics options or lack of. My brother had a top of the line comp for that game and he often complained about the lack of settings for his higher end machine. I complained that the graphic engine was difficult to modify to work on my lower end system. It was the Unreal 2.5 engine and I had worked on similar games in the past but 2k reworked it with so little regard to modders and those of us who like to fiddle with such things it became a real headache. They took alot of flack for not including shader model 2 textures into the game and really did a hasty back track with a patch/fix to address this. The user community fixed more problems with bioshock than 2k ever did imo. I should have plenty of juice this time around so I probably won't be fiddling with the engine..but then again I love diving into game engines inner workings and doing whatever I damn well feel like. Thats just one reason why I love PC gaming so much, I can get into all sorts of no good. haha

Ah K K, now I gotcha. And yes I totally agree. I don't make mods but I certainly am happy to find them and use them, as well as tweak my cfg files etc... The widescreen fix by Racer (IIRC) was a godsend! So ya, 2K did eff up in that regard. Other than that I don't get too fussy if a game could look better as long as it looks pretty damn good and I am enjoying myself. I like tweaking, but I can't be bothered to get all hung up on just graphics. Sadly PC games are all but ports nowadays it seems, at least shooters. But it would be nice if devs did pay more attention to PC abilities, you are absolutely right.

Because it's not a sequel. It's a prequel.
