I played it for five minutes, realized it sucked and uninstalled. :) There is a HWC Gaming group for Steam though, it's mostly for TF2, and L4D.

Most people(when it comes to steam games) seem to play Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress 2, and CounterStrike: Source. Feel free to join the Hardware Canucks Steam Group a good deal of us seem to be there, and a good portion of us also tend to hang out in the NCIX Steam chat room as well.

I think I'm already in that steam group LOL. I've played on the HWC l4d server too hehe.

Out of the three games you've listed I only have L4D. Its a fun game, but I can't seem to get back into it, maybe when the mod support gets released I can start playin it again.

The reason I'm asking about mods is because mods these days don't seem as fun. They seem to lack some of the "charm" that the mods of yesterday had. I duno if its because of the lack of community (hence why I was asking if any other HWC played mods) or if it's because of the time it takes to release a good mod.

I've tried the most popular HL2 and BF2 mods and they are all rather boring. Maybe it's because mods in general take a long time to release and by the time they release there are new and better games and game engines out there, that make newly released - but ancient engined mods - obsolete. All I know is, the quake 2 mods (I saved up my money and chose quake 2 over HL lol) were insanely fun.

You seem to have some experience with the mods of today Meth, are there any mods you would recommend? Its already February and MODDB still has yet to release their fricken Best Mods of 2008 chart.

I tried it a while ago and thought it wasn't ready for gameplay but looked promising. I'm downloading the new beta right now; it's a rewrite so it should be a lot better.

Watch out for Black Mesa: A Half-Life 2 modification - Home. That looks like a great mod to be coming out. of course, it's a redone HL1 make, but they've revised it to be more interactive and storytelling.

Yah, this is going to be awesome. I've been waiting for a long long time for this.

I've had mixed reactions due, in part, to the unsuitability of the Source engine for an N64 revival. When playing a deathmatch on the N64, you'd need to make sure to balance your firepower or picking up equipment with whether you can land critical damage to your opponents by setting up ambushes at important corridors; the Source effort seems to speed this up by a factor of four and nullifies any planning in your route to evade or pursue in the original. I last played this in 2006. It has probably evolved into a truer adaptation by now.

YEah, I can totally see what you mean. Add that to the fact that all the servers are set to Liscense to Kill, with 10+ people. Theres always someone behind someone, if theres someone in your sights, you better bet your ass your in someone elses sights lol.

About Black Mesa, I never really got into the HL1 single player experience, it was too scary for me at the. Heck, even today I can't play half of the good games cuz they're too creepy LOL. I remember being so reluctant to play fallout 3 because it seemed scary, I'm currently playing Oblivion and even that is a bit scary. I rented RE3 for ps3 and couldn't finish it, I couldn't even finish the Fear 1 demo lol. Any other Hardware Chickenucks?

Anyways, do you guys think there will be a Co-Op mode in black mesa? Because if there isn't then I doubt I'll be looking forward to it
