Anyone hosting there own L4D server?
Me and some friends are setting up a local Left 4 Dead server in the Victoria area (sponsored by our work) and we just need some help tweaking it abit. You can shoot me a PM or respond to this post. :thumb:
Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer.
cool, I am close to you, but have no server experience (well very little), what do you need?
I also love L4D but just pick random games, how do you pick a specific server?
We are wondering how to setup the server so there is a game lobby... and basic config stuff...
Here's the the IP address of the dedicated server in victoria, if anyone wants to try. 220.127.116.11:27015
If you do check out the server... post here and let us know how the server was running :thumb:
Hmmmm.... try the following commands in console for some serious intense Zombie action:
Console commands - Left 4 Dead Wiki - Your source for Left 4 Dead information.
I also only play random game.
But you do get stock with wierd player sometime. There was this guy playing a survivor and all he did was running in front of the team and wating to die..
Or the other one, called Panda and all he said was : Don't hurt a Panda, it is so cute.
Joining server would be nice... Now, how do I do that !
What do you need to know?
I'm currently running about 30 of them for NCIXGaming
Speaking specifically about the game lobby, the easiest way is to throw this into your server.cfg:
When you're hosting a lobby, type that exact same line into YOUR console. It'll bind your lobby to any empty server with that search key.
ok, I am a total noob with console in steam games.
First is there a Room where I can go to fin people from NCIX or HWC waiting for games ?
There's games happening all the time (mostly later nights) at NCIXGaming.
Do a search for the Steam Group "NCIX Gaming" (and "Hardware Canucks" while you're at it)
Make sure you join both groups as there's usually an annoucement prior to a game.
