Default Mirrors Edge (PC)

Anyone else tried this?

Its a pretty sweet game but lemme tell you.. cpu usage through the roof!

On my C2D 8600 I get 50% usage on core 0 and 90% usage on Core 2

If you have another Nvidia GPU, add that and you will see CPU usage around 4-6%.

What driver revision are you using ? Do you have GPU PhysX enabled ? otherwise your CPU is used.......... The game uses the unreal 3 engine and makes use of PhysX. I wold personally stay away from the 181.xx driver set. I'm currently using 178.24.
BTW What's your frame rate ?

Haven't had a chance to play it yet although I did see some footage of it - the one thing that sucks about the game is the flash cinematics, going from unreal 3 to flash and back to unreal 3, they both don't match and it distracts from the game - they should have used the engine to render the cut scenes...... Plus it was said the game is short ;)

I'm usuing 181.20 and I haven't checked my FPS but I'm running into some odd problems and I think this game is just I don't know.

Both cores will hit 100% causing stuttering in the game and memory usage goes through the roof to the point the game actually slows down and I can't play it. (or thats what it seems)

Apparently there's a hotfix patch for freezes with PhysX enabled? I know nothing about it but it is said here.

That's not too good - It seems PC games recently are being overly rushed and not tested properly - seems to be a trend - I have yet to play the game but from your profile your card should be able to handle this - Have you tried turning off PhysX ?

Turning off PhysX just makes both cores spike to 100%
