Thumbs up Prey

Ok, I don't have the luxury of immersing myself in allot of games and I don't play console games unless they are sports oriented. However, I finished playing Crysis Warhead as well as Prey. Prey may not be as beautiful as Crysis but you sure get your moneys worth for game length, incredible imagination that is second to none

Overall a big 8-10! ( I never give out 10-10 ).

I loved the game - Unique style indeed - From start to finish and they even added some goodies in there, and they used Art Bell's voice for some talk shows you can listen in while you go through some corridors - Definately worth the money - There is a sequel that was supposed to come out - I don't know where they stand now but I can't wait.......... :)

Agreed this game was a win for me. I played through it twice. Ya it's a Doom style shooter on rails, something I don't mind myself. I liked it better than Doom 3. The portals added a pretty cool mechanic that was nowhere to be seen at the time. And the spirit walking, although underutilized imo was cool too. Graphics of course are top notch too. 8/10 is very fair. Good game.

Now where is that darn sequel? Tommy was supposed to go save some other planet or something. *Googles*

Edit: If you want your money's worth for game length... get Far Cry 1. That game is SOOOO long, lol.

Doom 3 with a better storyline, and that's not saying much.

Initially I wasn't thrilled with the game but a few things changed my mind. The game gradually accelerates to more avenues of enjoyment, from puzzles to flying contraptions to the spirit world. Make sure you install patch 1.2 only since I had issues with 1.4 on vista x64. I had no issues whatsoever in running this game with vista x64 at all.

I'm glad I never read about the games story line and just immersed myself in the adventure. This provided me with an enjoyable conclusion that I didn't expect.

Next on the agenda : Reinstall Thief 1,2,3 ( my all time favorite games ). This goes to show you that graphics isn't everything and game play is more important.

Yep you awakened my curiosity enough to re-install Prey and started playing...it was a great game and still is! I played this the first time around a few years ago on my 17" LCD and 6800GT, I remember I thought it was somewhat "taxing"..hahahaha
Anyhow, didn't get into finding out how to force 1920 x 1200, played for a few hours at 1600 x 1200, everything cranked and my 280's spent 40% of the time downclocked to 400Mhz....hahahaha..man have games come a long ways in the past few years!

Yep they have. I remember playing this on my old system AMD Athlon XP 3000+ Barton @ 3.16GHz. 512MB of DDR-2700 ATI AiW Radeon 9800 Pro. With 512MB of ram I couldn't even play the game back then and had to upgarde to 1GB of ram just to play it. I was playing it on a 19" Samsung CRT at 1600x1200.

once again I feel like one of the only people that liked Doom 3 storyline and all.... but I played Prey as well and thought it was ok.... it has some really interesting gameplay.
But to me some of the elements of the storyline didn't make ANY sense and kinda ruined my whole suspension of disbeleif. I know I know that Doom 3 was as unbeleiveable as
it gets but it took place WAY in the future. That a plot point that lets me suspend a lotta disbeleif 10 feet in the air and beat it like cheap pinata. anyways though I thought
prey was ok but doom 3 was better.
