I would like to explain again while you may "see" 125fps your only actually getting 60fps due to limitations of a lcd monitor.
Enab...understand ....my monitor is limited (FPS) to the refresh rate of 60 Hz, therefore true 60 FPS, however, for Benching purposes (provided Vertical Synch is "off"), I would consider cross comparisons of various games and Benchmarks to give a good idea of overall performance based upon the consistent "reference". ie limitations, such as refresh rates.
Obviously if I turn on VS, my FPS is displayed as 60 (capped), turning off VS does in fact emulate higher FPS, thats a no-brainer from my experience.
Anyhow, almost makes one wonder why LCD's became so popular in the "gaming" world, when in fact a good CRT may produce better results.....thats for another Thread!
