Far Cry 2 PROBLEM!
 

Hi guys, I have a problem with Far Cry 2.
I installed it and then i tried to run it, it gave me the "its recommended you run SP1" and "You need to update your video card drivers" message. i clicked okay, it ran anyway played it, it was fine, little laggy but no biggie.
Then i updated my gpu drivers and i ran it, it was less laggy (woot) but at some parts of the game there are random black rectangles flashing.
Its not my monitor and it doesnt happen in any of my other games (prostreet, crysis warhead etc. ) I ran the game in a windowed mode just to test my monitor....and now i cant get it into full screen lol.

Get the beta drivers with the far cry hotfix.

Those are for xp. the vista are there too.

May not fix you though as lots of people are reporting problems with sli and FC2.

like i said, the problem happened after i updated the drivers.

press Alt enter, but use the left hand alt key, for some reason the right hand alt key does something else.

Hmmm, thats odd, I was getting the same black rectangles (only at night while driving thou)
and updating the drivers to at least 178 fixed it.

I played FarCry2 for about 8hrs straight with my GTX280 and forceware 178.24 with no problems or crashes. I am not suprised to see problems arising with SLI its the main reason why I switched back to a single GPU setup after performance problems in Crysis warhead, I was shocked to see how much better it performed with just 1.

I tried fc2 with 2 4850's in xfire and the screen kept flashing bright, with the FC2 hotfix drivers. Many more people reported the same thing.

okay, so i've tried the 178.24, 180.42, and 180.43 (beta) all those drivers for FC2, none of them fixed the stupid black rectangles!

disable sli and test it.

...hmm will my 8800 gts still be able to handle it on single?
