Far Cry 2, one week.

Heh, there goes our F@H rank climb for the next week or so. Got my copy reserved and will pick it up tomorrow at 9am.

Someone say something about the multi please, I so hope it's not as bad as Crysis Wars!

I went with "conservative" settings of everything maxed + 2x AA + HDR @ 1920x1200 with no hiccups. I'll probably bump it up to 4x AA and see how that goes later.

No, I have sp1 installed and I still get that message. Bit of a hitch it seems.

This game looks waaayyyyyy better than Crysis ever could.

Well I'm still waiting to get my copy now I'm debating whether to download/buy it online through ubisoft (I have enough bandwidth) or buy it from FS :D it's coming the 25th here - so one thing I'm concerned about is the open ended gameplay, can't you get lost ? I must admit I'm more of a linear type but always "open" to new types of games as long as it's good :)

In truth - I actually like Crysis Warhead, and the CryEngine2 a little better in terms of graphics quality than the Dunai in FC2.

Crysis WH has more detail and more depth to much of the landscape. Rocks for instance, have a more natural texture, with the appropriate lighting to make it feel real and crisp. Rocks generally have jagged edges not all round.
With FC2 much of it feels rather 2D, don't get me wrong the HDR and lighting is great, but there is something about the texturing and modelling that makes makes it feel to "rounded" and smooth.

Also, with Crysis:WH and the engine, the FOV is far superior. Also the far to near refreshes are much smoother, FC2 has a great short range to medium view, with alot of detail, but Crysis absolutely perfected the gradual progession of view, rather than having such a sharp contrast between closer and far away.

Either way, there is much playing to be done :)

nawww, it plays out like a rpg without all the character upgrading. There's a main story line and lots of side quests. You pack around a tom tom like gps (love how it sits on the dash when you drive) with places and objectives clearly marked.

you mean looks not performance right? Dunai kills Cry engine in performance. I played Warhead at medium settings with no AA and got 30-50 fps. FC2 is giving me 40-70 fps with ultra settings and AA. No comparison.

Sorry yes - Graphics performance = graphics quality.
