I'm playing the demo for it now that was on the PC Gamer disk and quite like it. But coming from more of a FarCry or Aliens vs Pred 2 background, I find the combat system a bit goofy. What's with the standing around until it feels like letting you hit something?

I never had that problem. I don't like the combat, but it wasn't very hard to get use to.

don't you find it a tad frustrating when you want to hit one of those hounds for example but Geralt just waves his sword in a circle in the air? Perhaps I need to actually read the instructions? no, couldn't be!

That's just in the beginning. You will soon learn how to time your attacks and become faster and more powerful.
I bought the uncut uk version of the witcher from ncix and upgraded to enhanced version for free.

/off to visit Abigel ;)

Just picked this up at FS, and I obviously paid too much money for it....

That said, I'm looking forward to giving it a try once I get the patch and language pack downloaded.

For anybody who's bought the new enhanced version here in Canada... did you need to input the registration code at some point? I've got my code (the issues with the original release of no CD keys for Canada have apparently been addressed), and have registered with the website, but as of yet haven't needed to use my code... did I miss something?

combat starts off ok, not great but ok, and then they add in power ups, works ok in the boxing but really gets annoying when using it in actually combat. I hate the powerups

The mouse control of viewpoint is going to take some getting used to for a dude like me who doesn't play FPS games.... :)

So far the graphics look pretty decent, although I'm thinking that I might bump the brightness up a bit on my monitor.

Dropped the gameplay for a little while in order to get my Vid card tweaked. :)

If you don't like the mouse control of viewpoint, switch control methods. Then you click on the ground to move like Diablo's and Dungeon Siege's. I can't remember which key changes it, too lazy to find the manual.
