I had an ASUS A7V266-E that i destroyed in a similar fashion. And it felt verry good. It had a VIA chipset (Nvidia was barely starting in the chipset biz in that point in time). It killed 3 Hard drives, never worked in RAID, as advertides, smelled like burnt electronics and ASUS never returned ther calls or E-mail.So I assume that the faulty one here is not Nvidia as much as Asus. Man I love my sledge Hammer, how much fun can we have with such a simple tool!

What is the reason your telling them for RMAing the board? You should just say it fails to post, and you've tried swapping out all other components with no success.
