| Dude I love your optimism, not a matter of "if", but "when"........very keen to see you do this. These cards teraflop the behind of my Quad Core in Folding and just fly through the work units.

| I tried the 8.6, complete removal and then hotfix, complete removal and then 8.7 beta to try and optimise stability (had to lower CPU OC to finally achieve this though). Each time I had to recreate my modded fan profiles. So once you have it installed make sure you re-create the modded fan profiles.

| What? I tried folding with one of my 4870s and the output was pathetic, compared to the 4400+ ppd that my Quad used to pump...

geuss I wont do FAH@home gpu based. I always did wanna bld like a 7-8 rack tower out of a bunch of salvaged p2-p3, in a round robin DNS or load balanced or basically a compute cloud using debian or actual REAL unix for x86 hardware. Sorry bout the slight change in topic though

Well I got some weird results after the install: 3.15GHz, 8.6 Cat, stock 4850: 3DMark06=13712, SM2.0=5040, HDR/SM3.0=6125, CPU=4989 3.15GHz, Hotfix, stock 4850: 3DMark06=13828, SM2.0=5128, HDR/SM3.0=6133, CPU=5028 3.15GHz, 8.7Beta, stock 4850: 3DMark06=13827, 3.01GHz, 8.7 Cat, stock 4850: 3DMark06=13342, SM2.0=4795, HDR/SM3.0=6098, CPU=4788 3.15GHz, Hotfix, 4850 650/1050 (Fan@80%): 3DMark06=14211, SM2.0=5254, HDR/SM3.0=6381, CPU=5010 3.15GHz, Hotfix, 4850 700/1050 (Fan@80%): 3DMark06=14582, SM2.0=5451, HDR/SM3.0=6558, CPU=5020 Gaming was unstable at 3.15GHz with new 4850 and after trying many things (all 3 drivers, NB Volts, etc etc) I found backing of my OC was the only thing that worked. I think the NB was getting to hot with stock NB HS and causing instability. I suppose it be reasonable to expect that SM2.0 and HDR/SM3.0 are directly correlated to OC and CPU score and thus lower final score for 3.01GHz with the 8.7 Cat. Will have to try FSB nudge again and see if stability is better.
