Default Catalyst 8.10

It is now up, get it here.

New features:

Catalyst Control Center™ Fan speed control
This release of the ATI software driver version 8.54 introduces the ability for users to control the speed of the GPU fan when running in accelerated graphics.

Force Component Video Detection
This release allows users the option in Catalyst Control Center to force Component Video detection in the Display Options aspect. By selecting this option user are able to adjust the Component Video property settings (without a device being physically attached) allowing user to change format and frequency to a desired value. The selected values will be applied to the display once a component video display device get connected. The feature is applicable for all AMD products supporting Component Video.

Is this for all the Radeon cards? Or just specific ones that the new 8.10 came out for?

Yup, it's for all of them. Just click on 9500 at the bottom of the Radeon list and you'll see.

Since ATI is allowing you to do this (control the fan), it shouldn't void the warranty on the card or anything should it? Since it's them allowing you to do it...so if the fan wears out or something before the card's warranty is up.

Have any of you that are running 3870s in CF tested 8.10? I cant get it to work, CF = instant bsod with ati driver error in both Vista and XP. Single cards work fine. Im starting to suspect it is the board so Im trying to find someone that can confirm that 8.10 and 3870 CF is working.

Tried these out with 4870 in crossfire and got a boost of about 6fps in Crysis at 1900*1200

So how do you control the fan's speed ? I can't see anything in Catalyst Control Center...
