I imagine some people don't have the vid cards to pump out the native res at decent frames. They bought it for the size. But I totally agree, LCD's look like crap at anything other than native.

That's funny but all too true in consumer products/hardware and many other things, when certain consumers use a product in a less than ideal or even unintended way and expect it to be problem free there I said it Sky lol.

To put it better, they use it in a less than ideal way but still expect ideal performance.

so many choices. And of course I'm thinking of doing this AFTER I bought this desk:

STAPLES Business Depot | BUREAU EN GROS

which just barely fits my large CRT. I would need to remove the top shelves to add the 30" screen. Now I'm also wondering if the screen would be sitting too high. ..aaaarg.

Yeah. They are pricey, but people buy em. Usually Production studio's or Engineers.

You've got your heart set on a 30" LCD? Because you can get a good quality 32" 1920x1080 LCD television for $1000 these days.

I almost jumped on the 305T when it was on sale. The size is great and the resolution would be fantastic but these old eyes aren't what they used to be and i find the text on the 275T+ 27" @1920x1200 MUCH easier to read across the desk. I have not noticed any lag or ghosting in the few games I've tried on it so far - but I'm only a casual gamer so I may not be the best judge (though this zippy machine and bitchin display might get me playing a bit more often ).

Its the higher res that has me drooling. If I take the plung, I want it to be jaw dropping, and I think the higher res 30" will do that over 32" TV. The $400 or $500 difference does not bother me too much.
