Thanks for the offer bushwacker, but I already got the corporate discount through work so it's all good. I figured it's about the best 24" out there for the price so I went for it.

The Samsung 245T is supposed to be a great 24" monitor. Maximum PC reviewed the Dell 2408WFP, the Samsung 245T, as well as some other monitors in their Oct '08 issue and they gave the Samsung 245T a 9 with their "Kickass" award, and the Dell 2408WFP got an 8. Links to their reviews: Samsung 245T Dell 2408WFP. :) Edit: I just noticed you bought the 2408WFP anyways. The Samsung 245T was on sale at NCIX last week...

Thanks Moneyless, I was seriously considering the Samsung also but from what I've read Dell actually uses a superior panel. Not sure of the validity of that but that's the rumour (based on the colour gamut ratings I believe). Plus I ended up spending less on the Dell which is always a bonus.

Another review of the Samsung 245T: AnandTech: Samsung 245T: LCD Prime a few Quotes: "with the Samsung 245T we have no qualms with recommending it as a very good 24" LCD." "There are a few areas where the 245T falls short. Perhaps the biggest flaw is the support for resolution scaling. This isn't a big enough problem that we would go so far as recommending against using the 245T, and truthfully there are plenty of users that will never know the difference; still, there are other LCDs that offer better scaling options. Dell's 2407WFP ..." |

The 2408WFP has nice scaling *options*, but depending on the connection you use, you can expect about half of the available resolutions to be screwed up in some way. Seriously guys, test all the options on your hardware before you launch into manufacturing... |

Yeah, they both have their weaknesses that's for sure, but I really did like the resolution scaling with the Dell as it does 1:1 properly as far as I remember.
