Default Computex 2017: The ROG SWIFT PG35VQ

A 35" screen, HDR, a 200Hz refresh rate, a quantum dot display and G-SYNC....the ASUS ROG SWIFT PG35VQ is the granddaddy of all gaming monitors.

If this was $1000 CND I would instantly buy it but it will probably be closer to $2000 CND after taxes and shipping.

I already have a good monitor but it feels like it is very outdated :p with all the new fancy tech that is coming out every other week. I am glad monitor tech is advancing so fast but I kinda want to go back to the old days when monitors basically didn't advance for half a decade. Right now it feels like if you buy a monitor the next best thing is just around the corner.

There will be a world-wide adaptation of adaptive-sync for all future displays, including TVs. All HDMI 2.1 compliant displays will have it. I think that's worth waiting for if you have something that works now. Panel technology is also important to me. I want OLED for all my displays! Prettier picture than IPS and faster than TN.

The bad news is we are stuck with a handful of panel manufacturers on this planet. They are in bed together, agreeing to release one small improvement after the other and trying to milk us dry without any real breakthroughs.

I so want a nice 120hz+, G-Sync, ips/oled/whatever panel, ultrawide display. Every one I've ever looked at though, has brutal backlight bleed. I really hate backlight bleed and know full well that a lot of video will have black bars on the sides.

Thank goodness I saw this. Was considering purchasing a Predator/Swift. I didn't know they had a new model coming up. Going to wait and see the release price.
