It also has the best stobing backlight as far as I know.

Absolutely untrue. I've got both monitors here in front of me and the RL is BY FAR superior. The XL2420TE's contrast is simply junk.

Would this monitor be good for MMOs, MOBAs, and RPGs?

Would you recommend getting a refurbished one for $150 from the BenQ store?

Also how does it compare to the Asus VG248QE in terms of picture quality?

How does it compare to the AOC i2367fh for $150 new? which is a 5ms response time IPS monitor that has some favorable reviews.

AOC if I remember doesn't leave you with much support if you get a bad monitor or it breaks.

I don't get why you focused on the 1ms response time so much. To me there are lots if 1ms options and that doesn't make it stand out. Plus, 1ms doesn't guarantee to make up for the limits of 60hz LCD tech. What are they talking about with the backlight strobing?

The BenQ GW2450 and GW2450HM monitors are the VA panels they have a 27" version which i have on a guest pc here.
Seems they fixed the big issues with early va's as i have seen 0 ghosting on the 27" one i have and the colors / contrasts are so much better then the TN panels i have including my XL2420 (which was a saddening revelation).

@ 4ms i find the GTG latency great and it has AVA also which reduces input lag by a lot.

I had my Samsung 1ms 27" monitor on the same machine and i couldn't believe how much better the Benq monitor looked and felt when playing fps games.

you can get the non HM version for under 150$ on the 24" version it doesn't have hdmi.

I really like these VA panels they have surprised me considering what i read on early adoptions of the tech. the colors and contrasts are more similar to IPS and affordability is great. only seen them in 1080p but @ 24" i don't see a issue on that.
