Question How often do small (23") Dell UltraSharp monitors go on sale?

Do they only go on deep discount (~40% off) once a year at Xmas, or is there also a summer or spring sale?

I tried to find pricing history, but the one site I found that showed these sales were only once a year seemed to have inaccurate data compared to what I witnessed personally from Dell. (I saw $170 @ Xmas, then after going full price went to $250, then briefly $200. The website reported no lower than $200 @ Xmas, then after going full price went to $250 and no lower. I don't know how it missed the deeper sale prices, since I'm sure the Xmas sale was probably a week long at least.)

Also, what's your opinion on the threshold for when it's worth having a multi-monitor setup? What kind of work?

I presume you're talking of the U2312HM? If so, I got it for $180 back on Boxing Day 2012.

You might want to consider something like this: Dell 23 Monitor - S2340L : Parts & Upgrades | Dell Canada if your intention is to have multiple monitors. It has a thinner border so it won't be as intrusive.

Dual-monitor is always benefitical for general productivity work. If you're gaming though, you need 3 otherwise you end up with the bezels smack dab in the middle.

Which happens to be on sale for the next few days (dell business sales are typically 24 - 72 hours as opposed to week(s) long)

72 hour Sale for Business | Dell Canada

$160 is pretty decent if you ask me, although I'm not a fan of the 16:9 / 1080p format. Unfortunately I think the days of affordable 16:10 format screens are pretty much gone.

Every time you see Dell's deals go live, it's only a matter of time until the smaller UltraSharp monitors go on sale.

I thought there was a price check forum but I can't find it.
How much should I be paying for a 2 year old 24" Dell UltraSharp? Is $220 good or still too much?

With a warranty transfer agreement, I'd say $225 to $250 is about right.

Seller claims no paperwork is required, as the warranty is on the product.
I'm having trouble finding information on Dell's website on what's required for a warranty transfer, but I see there's a step labeled "previous owner information" that I can't see the details for. It also mentions:
Quote:
Return to Depot, Complete Care, Same Day, and Parts Only contracts are NOT ALWAYS AVAILABLE FOR TRANSFER outside of the region the coverage was purchased in; please review your contract agreement purchased for more information.
but can't find the contract agreement. The page for the monitor just says "3-Year Advanced Exchange Service and Premium Panel Guarantee". No mention of "region" on the "Terms and Conditions of Sale (CANADA)" page.
