My System Specs

Default New gaming screen, Eizo Foris FG2421 with VA panel

Just picked one of these up. Reviews from users have varied in terms of panel quality, so there seemed to be a panel lottery at some point, but mine is 99% perfect. No dead pixels or back-light bleed, and motion blur is improved drastically at 120hz using their turbo 240hz feature.

Contrast is through the roof at 4000:1 or higher and the blacks are excellent quality with very little glow. This is a VA panel with superior viewing angles to TN panels, except for a little gamma shift horizontally.

It has a lightboost-like mode where it rapidly flickers the back-light in co-ordinated fashion to pixel refresh to drastically reduce motion blur, and this mode works with all graphics adapter brands, so no need to set up registry hacks or special modes on your PC. You only need to set the monitor into one of the gaming modes which doesn't destroy the decent color calibration.

For those who are put off by the generally poor colors in Lightboost enabled screens, this monitor is for you.

Unfortunately you are looking at North of $600.00 for this screen.

I'll try and post some initial observations sometime this week as I am on vacation.

For $600+ I'd definitely want to be buying it at a local place w/ a great return policy. Especially on a panel that has such a bad rep so far. Which means I'd never buy one.
