I have been running my Samsung SyncMaster 226BW for some time now (think I picked it up in early 2008) and I have always been very happy with its color reproduction. Starting to want an upgrade for full HD and was eyeing 120/144hz or a nice IPS. Might just hold out a bit longer to see how this plays out. Cost is definitely going to be a factor, so it likely wouldn't be 120hz+ and gsync.

I think about $100 more than standard version. Which sounds allot BUT considering what some of us pay for our rigs is not that much.. For others it won't be worth it.

Tomshardware interviewed Robert Hallock from AMD and here's what he said about g-sync:

Quote:
Q. GSync got tongues wagging in spite of the fact that people wouldn't be able to see the difference on a compressed Youtube video. Is AMD considering a similar solution, or working towards one that's more open than GSync?

A. You'll hear more from us on G-Sync soon.

AMD has to do something similar to G-Sync. Who the heck is gonna buy $1000 in AMD GPUs when they could spend less than half that and get a better gaming experience in a G-Sync ecosystem? Hopefully they deliver a universal standard and stick it to Nvidia. Oh, and hopefully something is delivered on the next-gen console scene, since AMD is in a position to do so. Of course, that assumes some universal standard makes it into HDTVs.
