Default Dell 3007WFP Screen Flickering

For months (a lot of months), this intermittent flickering has been going on. Today I managed to finally capture it on video.

For the most part it isn't a huge deal as the flickering only last for a few seconds and only happens every so often. It also helps that it is the secondary monitor on the desktop (I have a Dell U3011 as main display).

I am thinking it is a bad cap or caps. At one time (about a yr ago), I even took the monitor apart..but did not see any obviously bad caps.

The video I captured is actually the worse I have seen it to date...I gave it a hit/smack to the screen and it stopped...wth?

I have tried different video cards...mind you they are all GTX 480's same manufacturer. Is it possible the 3007WFP does not like GTX 480's?

Tried a fan cooling monitor, switching vid card, diff cable.

It has been hard to narrow down the cause ...as it happens so infrequent. And I don't use it as my main monitor.

Perhaps that is part of the reason why I haven't tried to work it out. I would go nuts trying and it hasn't really been getting worse over the last 18 (?) months.

This guy also seems to have the same issue...but there isn't much info with it.

wow, looks like em interference.. My guess would be the display's controller board but it could be a variety of things.
