Dell's new flagship monitor, the UltraSharp U3014 is everything we could possibly want. It uses a 16:10 AH-IPS panel, boasts one of the best color rendition scores around and simply outpaces nearly everything else out there.

Excellent review AkG. I need to clean the saliva from my shirt now. If I wasn't so wanting a 120Hz and 3d monitor I'd jump on this. I presume if this resolution were able to run 120Hz even SLi'd titans would come up short. Too rich for my blood.

As always, awesome review.. Judging the 2713HM vs this (or even the 2713H) how much difference is there in the smoothness in games or is it all colour?

They are both 60Hz monitors so there wouldn't be much difference IMO. It all comes down to size ratio and pixels.

I've had this monitor for a few months now. I game a lot, use it for my work station and watch a lot of movies on it. I love it and would never go back to a lower res monitor. I have a GHz edition 7970 and it runs most games quiet well on it like tomb raider, although I'll probably upgrade the graphics card soon. Easily one of the best purchase I've made!

I have a laugh when I see anyone rave about 60hz gaming these days. Obviously they have never tried a lightboost monitor.

Snake oil FTW!

I do a whole lot of gaming and in 95% of situations, I'd take resolution and 60Hz over 120Hz and lower resolution any day of the week.

I own the 140Hz Asus 27" 1080P lightboost monitor. I used the 144Hz Asus. The one I always opt for to play games on....is my Dell. If I had the coin I would have sold my nearly new U2713H and gotten this 30 inch beast. Its at a different level than even the 27H. IMHO color pallet and clarity of images will ALWAYS beat out shear frames per second.

The thing that bugs me though is the choppiness of frames being drawn on the screen with my 2713HM... this is why I was asking about the H.. I want smoother for gaming..
Still going to keep the High-res for those less paced games and of course, browsing etc but I want something as smooth as my OLD ass CRT..

There are some times when smoothness far outweighs res and colour but 90% of the time I'm with AKG.. I'll never go back to TN for general usage.
