Default IllumiRoom

Anyone see this yet? seems to be a very interesting technique. Possibly more immersive experience than multi-monitor. Or, in conjunction with.

IllumiRoom: Peripheral Projected Illusions for Interactive Experiences

Link fixed. Thanks Nodscene!

This would be a nice mix between Screen sharpness and projector size..... But what res would you need if the screen is still 1080?!!??

It's certainly not something to replace display devices or standard projection in a multi-display setup. I think the intention is to add immersion via a relatively out-of-focus peripheral effect. Still cool though. Small immersion techniques like this can go a long way in the experience of media.

Yea... love the weapon fire and room shake... would be great for certain games (halo / UT style pops to mind right away)

That pulse / room shake thing is freaking awesome... now all we need is force feedback chairs and we have a decent sim. :P

Get a Buttkicker Gamer. They have a clamp designed to clamp around office chairs.

Never mind. Apparently it is too expensive for the little people.

Big people things sooner or later become little people things, like tea, sugar and solid-state drives.

True, but I might be pushing daisies before that happens.

Not really.. Not long ago 1080 screens were really expensive.. now we're at 4k..

If they make it for the niche market, eventually the prices will come down somewhat.
That said, good projectors have never been cheap, tho those too are getting better for ok money.
All depends on what a full set-up would require.. How many projectors and at what quality etc.
