Default Sharp Introduces New 32" 4K2K display...

But only for the Japanese market damnit!

Sharp to Introduce 4K Professional Display with IGZO Panel - X-bit labs

Why do they get all the cool stuff first? BTW, that's a rhetorical question. I'm more interested in the 20" one that Panasonic has been showing around earlier this year... no pricing yet on that one though.

Can't wait for more of these to start coming out so the prices will decrease. I'm guessing by 2014 we should have some that are actually affordable to enthusiasts like myself.

Maybe catleap and the rest will start producing displays with these panels for other markets.

are people interested in this for gaming? I want to see how well it handles productivity (of the non-graphics sort).

I'd love to try it for gaming personally! Multi-monitor is already a pretty big bonus for productivity, but I can see the uses for this vs multi-monitor in some cases. The reason I'd like to try it in gaming, is you get a massively increased pixel density and that makes the image soooo sharp and massively reduces any aliasing. I'm a fan of higher pixel density (i.e. no point having a 1080p resolution if it's spread across a billboard)

Is this resolution even supported by current video cards? Even if it was, no way in hell we're going to be smoothly gaming at that res..

With that said......me wants.

GTX680 SLI should be able to handle it sufficiently.

I remember reading that the 7000 series from AMD supported this resolution but I can't recall if Team Green supported it yet.
